Beau Rivage

Exclusively reviewed for Holidays in Heels by travel pros Lawrence Travel! The Welcome Set on the quay of the pristine Lake Geneva, this exquisite belle epoque palace hotel oozes history, charm and Swiss sophistication. The setting is serene with the lake on its doorstep and the Alps functioning as a robust backdrop.  Entering the Beau Rivage Palace is like entering a time warp: the revolving door with doormen on either side guides you to the three story lobby decorated with balustrate floors looking up. The marble on the floor hints to former days, as well the wooden panelling on the walls. A fresh flower decoration reflects the time of year with seasonal colours and ornamental shrubs. The glass elevator is elegant, yet...

Lausanne Palace

Hotel review by travel pros Lawrence Travel Destination: Lausanne, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland In the land of the three suns - the one shining bright at the blue sky, the so-called second sun reflecting on Lake Geneva, or Lac Leman to the locals, and the third reflecting from the snow on the mountain peaks in the background – beautiful belle epoque builds stand the test of time through the Vaud region. Most of these establishments have been renovated, maintaining their whimsical charm of the olden days with exquisite ballrooms – close your eyes and you can imagine the cronilines twirling the lacquered parquet floors underneath the twinkling of crystal chandeliers- wide corridors and hand-painted walls and ceilings, lake view rooms and graceful...

Reviewed exclusively for Holidays in Heels by travel pros Laura Brown and Laura Snook of LawrenceTravel! Valsana Hotel and Apartments, Arosa, Switzerland On the edge of a forest line of pine trees, the newly opened Valsana Hotel and Apartments greets visitors with a young and inspiring vibe. The hotel has decided on a new hotel concept where healthy choices are at its helm. As soon as I walk into the sliding doors, the reception hands over my access card to just about everything – the card resembles an 80’s cassette tape, a hint to what comes next. The Welcome With this access card you become the resident in your own stylish, and eco-friendly I might add, abode on any of the five floors....

Eden Roc

When the hotel is located on a crystal clear lake, with a backdrop of mountains and villages in the distance, waving palm trees on the coiffured lawn and not far from ancient stone houses and small alleyways, it is pretty much a given the place is called Eden. Eden Roc, to be completely correct and honestly, it surely fits all the anticipation, write travel pros Laura Brown and Laura Snook in this exclusive review of Switzerland's finest. The Welcome Situated along Lake Maggiore, the Swiss twin of Italian Lake Como – similar in style yet almost more picturesque and for sure less popular with the paparazzi, Eden Roc holds the fort with exquisite taste. Spread out over two large buildings the hotel...

Carlton Hotel St Moritz

*Reviewed exclusively for us by luxury travel pros Laura Brown and Laura Snook! Set right between fur coats, high street brands and classy cars, this town of the affluent entices and welcomes international guests seeking allure and adventure. The Welcome In between mountain passes, forests and lakes, the five-star Carlton Hotel in St. Moritz is at the center of this fairy-tale scene. The sunlight plays in through the windows in the large and elegant spiral staircase and emphasizes the splendour of a former time. The hotel faces the luxurious town of shops, cafes and luxury competition, yet its location – overlooking the lake and the twinkling lights of the mountain town at night- ensures guests feel a world away when they retreat to...

La Prairie

Reviewed by luxury travel pro Laura Brown! Located on a picture perfect spot along the quay of Lake Geneva, known as the ‘Swiss Riviera’. Just off the promenade, a grey and white minimalist build looms  just off the road uphill, situated on a green lawn and situated with the serenest view a retreat can ask for, overlooking the calm of the lake nestled at the foot of the Swiss Alps, this location in the classy town of Montreux is meant for a wellness resort and spa: Clinique La Prairie. The Welcome The resort is located in a beautifully coiffured garden, simplistic in shape and elegant in style. The building grasps your attention upon arrival, yet from inside the architecturally strong structure lets your senses...

Grand Hotel du Lac

*Photo by Adrian Ehbrar Photography* Where do luxury travel PR pros like to go on holiday? Here's a review fit for a princess exclusive to Holidays in Heels from Laura Snook and Laura Brown of Lawrence Travel PR! Travel is always a happy time of year. You plan ahead, look at the best tickets, scroll through Instagram feeds to locate that wonderful sunset you can add onto your bucket-list and dream away of far away paradises. As ‘paradise’ can be found in many different formats, I decided to find mine. Just like that LBD which comes in many different cuts and creations. As long as it is little, black and well, a dress - it fits the criteria. I found that over the...

Hotel Helvetie Montreux

Every once in a while you come upon a hotel so unique, you have to come back again and again in hopes its magic rubs off on you a little bit. Hotel Helvetie in Montreux, Switzerland is part-hotel, part-art gallery and part-music studio. Not just any music studio, but a state-of-the-art facility where major artists record - this is especially popular during Montreux's annual jazz music festival every July. In so many ways, this boutique hotel has captured Montreux's soul and is an inspiring place for artists to come create. That's what I told myself while I sat for hours in corners reading and playing the piano (badly!). The Welcome No, this isn't the red carpet staircase that leads to the Cannes...
